Did Alicia and Kalinda really get that drink? Fans of CBS’ “The Good Wife” would never blame Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) for having problems with Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi). After all, Kalinda did sleep with Alicia’s husband, Peter (Chris Noth) once upon a time. However, rumors have been swirling for years that the actresses that play the acclaimed series’ two leading ladies are not on good terms in real life as well. Now, Archie Panjabi is speaking up to address speculation that a scene the two women shared in the Season 6 finale did not really happen.

In the Season 6 finale of “The Good Wife,” Kalinda, on the run from Bishops’ (Mike Colter) “fixers,” met with Alicia at a bar to say goodbye before skipping town and making her series exit – Panjabi announced earlier this year that she would be leaving the show after the season.

The scene would have been the first the two characters had shared in over three seasons, but something about the highly-anticipated reunion seemed off. Uneven lighting and the fact the two women never touch or cross each other in the frame led many to claim that the scene had been staged and the actresses had filmed their parts separately.

Speaking to E! News, Panjabi cryptically addressed the finale rumors.

“All I can say is this: the decision-making process is not something I’m privy to,” Panjabi said.

While that may not be a full-fledged confirmation, the refusal to outright deny the rumor appears to be a wink to fans that their speculation is correct.

It would not be surprising if the scene had been faked, considering the rumors of a real life feud between the two actresses. Margulies is a producer on the show, leading many to believe that she has personally been responsible for the fact that the two characters have not shared screen time since Season 4. The two stars, as well as the show’s producers, have a long history of dodging questions about the matter. Though, the origins of the potential feud have never been determined by the media.

Was the finale scene a bit of movie magic? Fans may never know for sure. “The Good Wife” will return for Season 7 in the fall.
