When “Gotham” Season 3 premieres, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will now be a bounty hunter taking down monsters for a price. With so many villains running amok in Gotham City, Gordon will never run out of things to do or bad guys to catch.

“There's a Mad Hatter, which is sort of loosely affiliated with Alice in Wonderland, the kind of terrifying guy who gets in your brain and manipulates you to do dastardly deeds,” McKenzie said of Benedict Samuel’s new villain Jervis Tetch on the show “Live! With Kelly.”

In the comic books, The Mad Hatter starts out as a hypnotist, but he will eventually delve into technology-based mind control.

“There's nothing but trouble in store for Jim Gordon,” said McKenzie. “Fish Mooney! Jada [Pinkett-Smith]'s coming back to play around, so that'll be fun. Really wild. We have grown-up Poison Ivy, she's all of a sudden an adult, don't ask us how we've done that.”

Gordon’s ex-girlfriend Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) has also staked her claim on the city, after she and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) opened their own club called Sirens.

“Because of the club that we have, we're much more integral to the running of Gotham City and its sort of underworld. So she's kind of owning her space a bit more, which is fantastic,” Richards told Comic Book.

Barbara and Tabitha seem to get along really well, but Richards said there’s actually a “playful rivalry” between the two. “I think if you ask Barbara, she’d say she’s the head of the Sirens, but if you ask Tabitha the same thing, she’d say the same. So it’s good, this playful rivalry,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Gordon might be missing another one of his ex-girlfriends - Dr. Leslie “Lee” Thompkins (Morena Baccarin). But he won’t spend too much time pining for her.

“There’s a new love interest for me in Valerie Vale – I think I can say that that’s a love interest. I don’t think it’s much of a surprise. It’s professional, and then not. And [Lee] has a new man as well. So we get to have fun with the kind of love triangle aspect,” he told Comic Book Resources.

“Gotham” will return on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
