The “Gotham” Season 3 finale did not leave fans wanting for shocking twists and revelations, and one of these include the death of Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell).

He was shot in the head by Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), but when he arrived in the hospital, doctors learned that his real name is actually Cyrus Gold.

Comic book fans all know that Cyrus Gold is the 19th Century man who eventually became the evil zombie named Solomon Grundy, according to Heavy. The character was first introduced in “All-American Comics” #61 back in October 1944.

Over the years, the zombie has received different origin stories, the most popular of which was his dying in Gotham City’s Slaughter Swamp. In some variations, he was killed there, but in others, his body was simply brought there after his death. Several years later, he was resurrected as Solomon Grundy.

For Season 4, Butch will probably shock his girlfriend Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) and former colleagues by becoming a flesh-hungry villain.

As for Tabitha, she teamed up with Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova) during the Season 3 finale. Tabitha even lent her whip to Selina, who seemed to be a natural in using the weapon.

There are several other villains that “Gotham” can utilize next season. Ben McKenzie, who plays Detective Jim Gordon in the series, said he would like to come face-to-face with the Scarecrow. “There are some villains that I’m a fan of that are in season four,” McKenzie told Comic Book Resources. “I’ve always been keen on the Scarecrow. It would be nice if the Scarecrow showed up.”

The good news for Jim next season is that he would not be facing these villains alone. During the Season 3 finale, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) realized his true calling as the city’s savior. He put on a mask and then saved three innocent victims from a mugging, possibly even a murder, by beating up their assailant. He then escaped the scene without a word.

“Gotham” has been renewed for a fourth season and will air every Thursday instead of its usual time slot on Monday.
