Grace Vanderwaal recently showed off her curly hairstyle via Instagram on Monday, Sept. 5.

The 12-year-old singer confirmed that she just arrived in Los Angeles to practice for the upcoming finale of “America’s Got Talent” Season 11. In the photo, Vanderwaal tried to make a wacky face by crossing her eyes. However, her expression and hairstyle didn’t necessarily sit well with some of her fans and critics. Some fans claimed that her straight hair looked much better. Others also questioned why she decided to cross her eyes. On the other hand, there were also tons of fans who said that curly hair suited the “I Don’t Know My Name” singer.

Meanwhile, Hollywire recently released some not-very-known facts about the 12-year-old golden buzzer recipient. According to the site, Vanderwaal started writing her original songs at the age of 10. But it was only a year ago that Vanderwaal started performing in front of other people. Vanderwaal also shared that she initially wanted to audition for “American Idol,” but wasn’t able to do so because of the age limit. The reality singing competition was also axed after 13 seasons.

In other news, Vanderwaal has become extremely popular not only on social media, but also in real life. After her three successful performances in “America’s Got Talent,” Vanderwaal revealed that her parents and the producers of the show have been helping her keep her ego always in check. “My family and the producers of this show have helped me so much not really to become a stuck up little girl!” she told Hollywood Life. Vanderwaal is expected to perform another original song in the finale. During her audition, Vanderwaal performed “I Don’t Know My Name.” In the quarterfinals, she performed “Beautiful Thing” and most recently, she sang her new song, “Light The Sky.”

“America’s Got Talent” Season 11 airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
