One of the most-anticipated nights of the year for popular music artists and groups, the Grammy nominations begin Wednesday at 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The Grammy Awards, named for the old-time gramophone that graces the trophy, are in their 55th year, and the excitement only builds from here as the nominees eagerly anticipate the revealing of the winners.

Tonight's Grammy nominations event is being hosted by country music superstar Taylor Swift, who already has a bundle of Grammys of her own under her belt.

Not all of the nominations will be announced Wednesday, as it will just feature several of the major categories.

But there will still be a lot of action, as the night features a star-studded concert featuring big names like the Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo.
