Grammys 2012 Red Carpet: Best-Dressed Songstresses Adele, Rihanna Rocked Black [PHOTOS]

The 2012 Grammys took place Sunday in Los Angeles as stars stepped out to celebrate Music's Biggest Night and to honor the late Whitney Houston. Jennifer Hudson was one of the highlights of the night, with her rousing rendition of Houston's I Will Always Love You. Hudson supposedly had a difficult time rehearsing the song, between bouts of crying over the lost talent. 

One of the biggest winners of the 2012 Grammys was Adele. The amazingly talented British songstress won six awards (everything she was nominated for) and got a heartfelt standing ovation for her performance of Rolling in the Deep. Adele recently underwent throat surgery and last night's Grammys performance was her first since the operation. 

The red carpet wowed with singers Adele and Rihanna topping the best-dressed list in black. Adele opted for a custom made Giorgio Armani gown with all-over sequins. The dress flaunted three-quarter sleeves and a black mesh overlay. A cinched waist complemented her figure nicely and matte red lipstick. She finished it off with a 12.4-carat Harry Winston diamond micropave ring with platinum setting. 

Rihanna made jaws drop in a black silk Giorgio Armani gown. The plunging neck, high slit and open back made the 23-year-old look super sexy. Jacquie Aiche body necklaces upped that sex appeal even more. Rihanna wore Neil Lane jewels, including a diamond and gold snake armlet, gold rings and gold triangle earrings. She finished off the look with Christian Louboutin shoes and a Jimmy Choo clutch. 

Other red carpet stunners included Carrie Underwood, in a white sparkling Gomez-Gracia gown; Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward gown, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, and jewelry by Pomellato; and Corinne Bailey Rae in a Marni gown.
