Billie Joe Armstrong, the 39-year-old frontman of Green Day, was escorted off Southwest Airlines flight in Oakland, California for wearing his pants too low.

On Thursday night, Amstrong boarded the plane from Oakland to Burabnk for his 3-days holiday. While the rocker was still searching for his seat, a male flight attendant asked him to pull up his saggy pants. However, Armstrong ignored the request.

The male flight attendant repeated his request again and warned Armstrong that he would be ejected off the flight if he did not follow the request.

When Armstrong refused to heed the warning, he was escorted from off the plane.. Later on Thursday night, he tweeted Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the (f**k)? No joke!

Cidy Qiu, an Oakland resident and producer from San Francisco's KGO-TV was on the same flight and witnesseed the incident. When the flight attendant asked Amstrong to hike his pant up, he replied Don't you have better things to do then worry about that? Qiu said.

When Amstrong was trying to take his seat he was asked to leave the plane, Qiu added.

Amstrong and a companion, who were removed from the flight, were able to catch next flight.

Southwest airline apologized to Armstrong by releasing a statement on their official tweet page: Very sorry for your experience tonight, someone from our Customer Relations Team will reach out to you to get more details.

Brad Hawkins, a spokesman for the airline, said Friday that he couldn't comment on the matter. We're still looking into what happened, Hawkins said.
