The "Nazi" is back. That’s right, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will reprise her nickname and return to her terrifying roots during episode 2 of “Grey’s Anatomy.” And according to the Season 12 promo video of the upcoming installment, titled “Walking Tall,” her tough attitude will leave the surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial hospital shaking in their scrubs.
The reason behind Bailey’s shift in behavior is due to her new gig. In the Season 12 premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy,” the doctor was forced to go head-to-head with a seemingly perfect candidate for the position of Chief of Surgery. However, after a pep talk from Ben (Jason George), Bailey delivered a presentation so moving that she was dubbed as the hospital’s newest Chief.
She explained that while her competitor thought of this role as a challenge, she saw it as a way to improve the hospital that she loves so dearly. That is what ultimately earned her the well-deserved position.

But has power gone straight to Bailey’s head? That’s what the upcoming installment, set to air Thursday, Oct. 1, will explore.
“I should be chief…” the lab coat-wearing physician says in the trailer for episode 2. “Oh, wait. I already am!” Bailey can then be heard letting out a howl of laughter.
But not everyone will find Bailey’s humor amusing. In the next scene, viewers can see Callie (Sara Ramirez) giving Maggie (Kelly McCreary) all the dirt on the doc who used to act like a tyrant during their internships at the hospital.
“You know what they used to call her?” Callie says. “The Nazi.”
Bailey’s no-nonsense, all-business behavior will even cause Callie to beg Owen (Kevin McKidd) to take back his role as chief.
“Can you be chief again?” she questions, only to have the redheaded doc scoff and walk away.
Audiences got a glimpse of Bailey’s new, chiefly-attitude when Jackson (Jesse Williams) attempts to argue with her.
“You’re impossible,” he says, unaware of the can of worms he’s just opened up.
“Oh, I know you didn’t say impossible,” Bailey barks back.
Will the surgeons be able to embrace Bailey as the new Chief of Surgery? Fans will find out when Season 12, episode 2 of “Grey’s Anatomy” airs on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m. EDT.
