Sorry, Japril! Looks like there’s a hot, new Grey Sloan couple in town.

While the fire between April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) dies down during Season 12 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” the chemistry between Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) heats up with each passing episode. Audiences will get to see MaLuca’s steamy romance in full force during an upcoming episode of the hit ABC series.

In a sneak-peek clip from episode 12, titled "My Next Life," viewers watch as the doctor and her intern’s lust for one another becomes so overwhelming they’re unable to complete the simplest tasks … like eating lunch. In the video, the Grey Sloan doctors ditch their cafeteria trays for something tastier when they see each other in the dining hall. They flee the lunch room and head to the nearest broom closet.

During an interview with "Access Hollywood," McCreary dished what makes her character’s romance with the Grey Sloan intern so sexy.

“I think that for Maggie it was the unexpected nature [of their relationship],” she said. “[Maggie’s] kind of buttoned up and very super, duper professional and she’s going way out of bounds here by dating someone younger — someone she works with. I think that the audience dug her wild out of control nature.”

Gianniotti chimed in, revealing that neither of their characters foresaw a romance sparking the night that they ended up at the bar together. “They both had a really terrible day and were just trying to unwind,” he said, “and a conversation leads to something else.” That something else just so happens to be the hottest storyline of Season 12!

Although audiences can prepare for some jaw-dropping MaLuca moments, they should also anticipate a few vulnerable scenes to take place between the couple as they attempt to navigate their fresh relationship. One of those uneasy moments will occur in episode 12 when DeLuca learns Maggie’s father is none other than the former Chief of Surgery, Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.).

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
