“Grey’s Anatomy” is going to war — literally. Season 14, episode 5 will show some of fans’ favorite doctors in Iraq in 2007, long before they all came to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Photos from the episode reveal what viewers can expect.

The synopsis clearly states that this episode, which was delayed for Halloween specials last week, will be mostly a look into the past. “In a flashback to Iraq in 2007, the events leading up to Megan’s kidnapping are revealed,” the logline for the ABC drama reveals.

The photos from episode 5, titled “Danger Zone,” show off the doctors at their base. Megan (Abigail Spencer) is walking around tending to the wounded rather than stuck in a hospital bed. She is pictured with a woman played by Yasmine Aker. The character is injured and needs Megan’s help. She’s in civilian clothes so she probably isn’t a member of their team. Could she be the one who leads to Megan’s capture?

While we’ve never seen this story, we have heard about it. As “Grey’s Anatomy” has stated before, a patient needed to be transported, but there was only room for one doctor in the helicopter. Riggs wanted to go since it was going to be a flight in unprotected air space. He fought with Megan about the decision, but she made a choice to go with her patient. That was the last time he would see her for 10 years.

Also pictured are Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver). They don’t seem as focused on civilians. They’re pictured tending to soldiers in the medical tent. Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) is also in the photos, but he seems to be in different clothing. He wears blue scrubs rather than the standard camouflage and tan that the other docs are wearing.

The episode won’t take place solely in the past, though. “In present day, Owen and Megan hash out old wounds,” the synopsis teases.

Photos show Owen outside doing some pondering. These photos appear to be taken during the trip to Seattle. The ABC drama actually went to the Emerald City to film some exterior shots. It looks like Owen is sitting on Pier 57 as he contemplates.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14, episode 5 airs Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
