Season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy” is heating up and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. The show’s cast opened up about what’s to come during a PaleyFest panel and it seems fans are in for a real treat.

Ellen Pompeo opened up about what’s left of Season 13 during the discussion. She chatted with attendees about directing an episode of the ABC medical drama, what’s to come for her and Riggs (Martin Henderson) and more. Pompeo couldn’t reveal too much, but promised the episode she helmed would be a real tearjerker.

“I couldn’t wait to make everybody cry,” she said during the panel.

Pompeo and her co-stars dished on other aspects of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 as well. Check out more of what’s to come below:

What Will Become Of Meredith And Riggs?

When Season 13 kicked off, many “Grey’s Anatomy” fans thought Meredith (Pompeo) and Riggs were a sure thing. The widow continued to push her promising suitor away and viewers hope for a relationship waned. Henderson didn’t comment on their relationship, but said he’s enjoyed playing opposite Pompeo.

“It’s been wonderful to play a character who’s been sort of polarizing and a mystery,” he said (via TV Line). “It’s impossible to be a great man without a good woman by your side.”

Big Things Are Ahead For Maggie

Kelly McCreary, who plays Meredith’s half-sister, teased drama ahead. She said “Grey’s Anatomy” viewers should expect something major to happen to Maggie that will change her for good.

“I think major life events enable you to shift your perspective and reevaluate what you think is important to you,” McCreary said.

While she gave nothing away, there’s a good chance the big change relates to her adoptive mother. She returned to Maggie’s life to get an elective surgery done only to find that she had an aggressive form of breast cancer. She’s getting the best care possible, but “Grey’s Anatomy” has a thing for breaking fans hearts.

Will Arizona And Eliza End Up Together?

Eliza Minnick (Marika Domińczyk) stirred things up in a major way at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital in Season 13. The biggest shakeup of all has been between her and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). The pediatric surgeon has tried her best to repress her feelings, but Eliza sees right through her — will they end up together?

“There’s a real light and a real energy. I have no idea if she’s The One, but it’s been really fun,” Capshaw said.

Will Jackson’s Father Return?

“Grey’s Anatomy” fans met Jackson’s (Jesse Williams) father for the first time in Season 13, episode 16. The fate of the character, played by Eric Roberts, hasn’t been discussed, but Williams is hopeful he’ll be back for more. The actor said there’s more to explore in that storyline, providing hope that they’ll dive into it at a later date.

“I think there’s a lot left to do there,” he said before his TV mother, Debbie Allen, added, “We’ve planted a lot of seeds this season, and that’s one...But there’s more coming.”

Are Jackson And April Back On?

There’s still hope for Japril! Jackson and April (Sarah Drew) went to Montana together during Season 13, episode 16. April pushed her ex to reconnect with his dad and the pair wound up hooking up, but will it happen again?

“There’s so much love there, there’s so much respect, they know each other so well...They will always be one another’s person,” Drew said during PaleyFest.

The End Is Near For Owelia

Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) have seen better days. Amelia left home in the Season 13 midseason finale and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. During the PaleyFest panel McKidd explained the relationship in depth.

“He desperately wants a baby,” McKidd said. “Owen’s really struggling. He’s a very tortured guy. He thinks the thing that’s going to fix him is to have a family with this beautiful woman.”

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 continues Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
