A new report gives details about the filming dates of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” The first draft of the script of the movie was completed in the month of June by James Gunn, who will also be directing the movie.

According to a report by SpoilerTV, the production of the movie is scheduled to begin on Feb. 15, 2016 and end by Aug. 15, 2016. The main plot of the movie and the cast members have not been revealed by the producers yet. Major characters like Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) are expected to return.

Gunn announced in a Facebook post in June that he had completed the first draft of the script of the movie. The director said that he had worked “48 days straight without a day off” to complete the first draft. Commenting on one of the questions by a fan, the director added that most of his writing work had been completed when he wrote the script over many months and later he turned the written material into a screenplay for the movie.

In an interview with Collider, Gunn said that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” was a “more emotional movie” where viewers will get to know more about certain characters as the movie will be focusing “more intensely” on some of them. The director also teased that the fans will get to know more about the fathers of some of the characters in the movie.

One major character that is expected to be introduced in the forthcoming movie is Peter Quill’s father. In his Facebook post, the director mentioned that the character was different from what is in the comics because he found the comic book character to be “unappealing.” The director also apparently didn’t like the name J’son in the comics.

A new set of songs will be featured in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Gunn revealed. The movie is slated to be released on May 5, 2017, in the U.S.
