Hannibal
Zachary Quinto will guest star in new episodes of "Hannibal" Season 3. Reuters

Restless “Hannibal” fans got some exciting news Thursday. The series is getting a big guest star for Season 3. The network has announced that Zachary Quinto will join the cast and make an appearance in at least one episode of the new season. So, what role will Quinto be playing when the series returns?

The 37-year-old actor will one of Bedelia’s (Gillian Anderson) patients. Fans already know that Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Bedelia will be starting a new life in Italy when Season 3 picks up again – a year after the shocking events of the Season 2 finale that forced Hannibal to flee. Apparently, being in hiding will not keep them from working. Bedelia is seeing patients like Quinto’s character, and in the Season 3 trailer Hannibal seems like he is busy working himself into the Italian social elite.

Fans have seen Quinto all over television lately. The actor currently stars as Harry in the new NBC series “The Slap,” plays Ace in HBO’s “Girls,” and has previously appeared in “American Horror Story” as Dr. Oliver Thredson/Bloody Face. Quinto also previously worked with “Hannibal” EP Bryan Fuller in “Heroes.” In addition to his television career, Quinto has had a successful run in movies as well, most notably playing Spock in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” reboot.

With Bedelia’s patient being the only info on Quinto’s “Hannibal” character so far, it is unclear how big of a role he will play in the new season. Fans will have to wait to find out. Season 3 of “Hannibal” is expected to premiere in early summer on NBC.
