Legendary film composer Hans Zimmer ("The Dark Knight," "Inception") has released a haunting piece of music entitled "Aurora" as a tribute for the victims of the shooting in Colorado, available for download here.

The song, unlike the traditional movie scores usually written by Zimmer, is a touching tribute to those who lost their lives taking in a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in an Aurora movie theater.

With a haunting, soulful choral arrangement, the song can be purchased for a meager 10 cents, although there are other tiers one can choose to download. In conjunction with GivingFirst.org, all proceeds of the song are to be distributed among the victims.

According to Mashable, Zimmer said: "I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families. [One hundred percent] of the proceeds will be donated to Aurora Victim Relief organization."

The "pay what you want" structure works well, as many will certainly choose to pay the minimum, but, truly, in a horrible situation like this one, every penny raised is important. After making a donation, users will be able to download the song in the MP3 format. Running more than eight minutes, the song is a fitting and beautiful tribute.
