High School Musical star Zac Efron turns 24 years old today.

It seems as if it was only yesterday Efron was twirling and singing his heart out in the High School Musical movies.

Today, he is taking lead roles in a variety of film projects, including a movie adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel The Lucky One.

This will be Efron's first birthday as a single man in a long time, as he and former girlfriend and HSM costar Vanessa Hudgens split up in December of last year, Us Weekly reported.
