Happy National Peanut Butter Day! The sticky and nutty spread is so delicious it was given its own special day. The lunchtime favorite has been around since 1890 and can be used in a wide variety of ways, whether it be smeared on a slice of bread, doused in chocolate or even a healthy snack. To revel in the pseudo-holiday, some fast facts have been provided below, courtesy of the National Peanut Butter Board, the Huffington Post and The Stir.

3) A 12-ounce jar of peanut butter contains more than 500 peanuts.
