The Help, a wildly successful film about African-American house maids during the civil rights movement, took home three major awards at the NAACP Image Awards on Friday (February 17). The heartwarming drama, which has already collected various accolades, was awarded best picture while Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were honored for their incredible portrayals in the film. Davis, who is known for her scene stealing performances in films like Doubt revealed that working on the film was a personal triumph. She said:

I found my voice. I just emerged through 'The Help.'
