Henry Cavill is ditching his Superman costume for another disguise as he has just been revealed to be part of Tom Cruise’s action spy thriller series “Mission: Impossible 6.” The revelation was made by Cavill after he had a friendly conversation with director Christopher McQuarrie on social media.

On Friday, McQuarrie posted a snap of himself standing on a cliff. He tagged Cavill in this post for he was meaning to ask the “Man of Steel” actor if he’s open to the idea of being part of “Mission: Impossible 6” — the next installment in the long-running series of action films. “Curious if you’re interested in a role in the 6th installment of ‘Mission: Impossible,’” the director wrote.

Cavill quickly responded to McQuarrie, saying,“How can I say no to a man with such perfect hair…” The director then gave Cavill a warning that he’s looking for someone who “must enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms and sporadic exposition.”

In their back-and-forth chatting, the “Batman v Superman” star indicated that he is only in it if he gets to fly for real, to which Quarrie responded, “I do believe I specified practical stunts.” After Cavill confirmed that he’s in, the British actor uploaded an edited version of McQuarrie’s snap, which now shows Cavill clinging onto a pole sideways. “I like a good challenge. Like hanging from a moving plane…or balancing from a cliff by my fingertips…or scaling a skyscraper,” Cavill wrote in the caption.

This will not be Cavill’s first time engaging in a spy-themed project. He previously starred in 2015’s “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” as CIA agent Napoleon Solo. But this will be his first time working with Cruise.

The timing for the casting is perfect since Cavill has already finished filming for Zack Synder’s “Justice League” that is slated for release on Nov. 17, as per The Wrap. Cavill is currently working on psychological thriller “Nomis” and Netflix’s original movie “Sand Castle.” After, he’ll have sufficient time to film with Cruise for “Mission: Impossible 6,” which is scheduled for release on July 27, 2018.

Then fifth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” starred Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Ving Rhames. The Independent has confirmed that all of the main cast will be returning for the sixth installment save for Rhames.
