Hilary Duff’s regrets posting vacation photos because it made her empty home an easy target for a jewelry heist.

On Wednesday, someone broke into Duff’s pad in Beverly Hills while the star was away for vacation. The alarm reportedly never went off, and the robber or robbers were able to get away with the actress’ jewelry worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Duff is currently still in Canada, so the police don’t know the extent of the robbery, TMZ reported.

“This is a scary and upsetting situation for anyone to go through, but Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe,” Duff’s spokesperson told Us Weekly. “That said, she has a significant security team in place that will work with the authorities on this incident and handle security measures moving forward.”

Meanwhile, “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” star had been posting photos online showing her and her family on vacation in Canada. In one photo she shared on Instagram last week, the “Younger” star sits on a raft with her son, Luca, 5. “Losing track of days. Collecting mosquito bites,” Duff wrote in the caption.

She shared another video of her son enjoying water sports. In another clip, which she captioned “C A N A D A,” the actress did a front walk straight into the water.

A number of celebrities have been the victims of jewelry heists. Aside from Duff, TMZ noted that Scott Disick, Ronda Rousey and “Creed” star Michael B. Jordan were hit by burglars. Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj and Alanis Morissette also had their homes broken into and valuables taken in recent months. However, the most talked about incident was Kim Kardashian’s robbery in her Paris hotel room in October 2016.

The Paris jewelry heist has taught Kardashian to limit her posts on social media. “I try to share my life. I definitely love doing that, but I think I’m a little bit more cautious these days about what I do share,” she told “The View” (via E! News). “I’ve learned through experience that things in real time I might change up a little bit. I might take a photo, save it, post it when I leave the place or when I’m in a different location because I don’t think that worked out for me so well when I was posting every last detail.”
