Although Audrina Patridge and Justin Bobby Brescia have been broken up for years, “The Hills” star admitted that he still holds his ex-girlfriend close to his heart, and has been thinking about her since her divorce from Corey Bohan was announced.

During a conversation with E! News, Brescia revealed that he was initially concerned about Patridge and her daughter Kirra after learning her marriage was over. “My first reaction is the thought of the child, obviously. Me, coming from a separated family at a young age, it had its perks and it had its hindrances. My second thought is if she’s OK because she's been a longtime friend,” he said.

“My thoughts and my heart go out to her and her little one at this time,” he added.

Despite the dark time, Brescia seems confident that his ex-girlfriend will come through this situation and become stronger than ever. “I don’t feel good about it. The baby is so cute and beautiful. Thank God Audrina has such a strong foundation with her family,” he said.

The star insisted that Patridge’s close family bond will be what helps her during her divorce. “They just reap family values to the highest degree, is what I've learned over the years,” he explained.

“She will be fine and the baby will be fine,” Brescia added.

Patridge first filed for divorce on Wednesday, after she requested a temporary restraining order and child abduction prevention order against Bohan. The 32-year-old cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce, revealing that one of the reasons for the end of the relationship was an alleged domestic violence incident.

In her documents, Patridge claimed that the Australian BMX dirt bike rider became “increasingly possessive, angry, agitated and jealous” because of her hectic work schedule.

“His aggressive behavior usually escalates whenever I am paying attention to work obligations, rather than to him. When we are apart, he texts me obsessively, rattling my nerves and making it difficult for me to concentrate on my work commitments,” she explained.

The Prey Swim designer revealed that her husband’s temper began to frighten her, which lead to her decision to end their relationship. “His harassing behavior has recently become so extreme that I physically separated from him a few weeks ago.”

Prior to the end of their romance, Bohan “became physically violent” with his wife. In July, the BMX star’s behavior got out of control.

Patridge explained that Bohan “was jealous I was out with people, accused me of partying and cheating on him and threatened to kill himself. I was very shaken by the texts, mostly because Kirra was with him.”

“I am fearful of his temper because he cannot control his swearing and personal attacks on me, even when in the presence of our young daughter,” Patridge stated.

A source revealed that despite her desire for divorce, the star is having a hard time dealing with how her relationship ended. “It’s upsetting to her – she has a child. That’s what she cares about right now, and that will remain her first priority,” the insider told E! News.

Although Bohan has yet to comment on his divorce, a court hearing is expected to take place on Oct. 6.

Patridge and Bohan have been together off and on since 2008. The two were married in Nov. 2016, just five months after welcoming their baby girl.
