Speed could be a factor in Ryan Dunn’s fatal car crash
TMZ is reporting that Ryan Dunn was behind the wheel when his car crashed and he was killed.
MTV.com previously reported that Ryan Dunn, star of Jackass died in a car crash on Sunday night in Pennsylvania
TMZ reported that the accident happened on Route 322 in New Street in West Goshen Township at 3 a.m. The unidentified passenger also died in the crash
According to TMZ, the West Goshen Township Police Department said officers found Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT2 off the road and in the woods.
The police officers said that both passengers died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. They also said that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.
The news was first announced by April Margera, the mother of Dunn's co-star Bam to WMMR 93.3's Preston and Steve radio show.
TMZ also reported that the last photo Dunn posted on his personal Twitter account showed him and two friends drinking what appear to be alcoholic drinks. According to the report, the car also caught fire in the crash and that a tow truck was sent to the scene of the accident to remove the car.
Dunn is known for doing risky stunts and skateboard tricks in a series of online videos, and for his role in MTV's Jackass in 2000. He later played a key role in the spin-off Viva La Bam and Bam's Unholy Union, as Bam Margera's sidekick.
Dunn's latest show, Proving Ground, premiered on G4 last Tuesday, according to MTV.com.
Dunn also appeared in all three Jackass. He also appeared in Blonde Ambition with Jessica Simpson, and on an episode of Law & Order SVU.
Jackass star Ryan Dunn Dead After Porsche is Engulfed in Flames
Jackass star Ryan Dunn was killed early Monday morning in a car accident in or near his hometown of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
According to the West Goshen Township police report, Dunn's Porsche 911 GT3 was fully engulfed in flames when officers responding to a report of an auto accident near Route 322 and Pottstown Pike found it off the road and in the woods.
Dunn, who is the registered owner of the car, was behind the wheel. His passenger also died, but has not yet been identified, possibly because the severity of the injuries have prevented a conclusive identification.
Dunn was identified by his tattoos.
According to the police report, Preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.
Dunn was known for living dangerously. The Jackass movies involve pranks and stunts that could be dangerous: In one case, a golf cart driven recklessly by Dunn caused his passenger Johnny Knoxville to be knocked unconscious.
Dunn was also a member of the Camp Kill Yourself Crew, known as the CKY crew, led by his best friend and fellow daredevil Bam Margera.
Colored dyes offer cheap solar power: Israeli firm
It may take a little bit of color to create cheaper solar energy.
Israeli start-up 3GSolar says it has developed the world's first commercial-size solar energy system that uses colored dyes to turn sunlight into electricity.
The technology emerged from a relatively new field in solar energy that uses simple organic dyes instead of rare or costly materials, like silicon, which scare many consumers away from solar power.
Energy companies have been struggling for years to make dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) large enough to be used in commercial-size systems. Such next generation cells could be used in cutting-edge applications, like windows that turn passing sun rays into electricity.
Japanese electronics conglomerate Sony Corp said last year it had developed dye-sensitized cells with an energy conversion efficiency of 10 percent, a level seen necessary for commercial use, but that its technology was still in the research and development stage.
A 1.5 square meter (16 square foot) prototype, boasting red panels, stands on the rooftop of the 3GSolar's Jerusalem laboratories. The company's founder, Jonathan Goldstein, says it is by far the largest in the world.
It transforms just seven percent of the sunlight it absorbs into electricity, but he said that its efficiency would increase steadily in the coming years.
Scaling up the size of solar panels has been hampered by problems of metal corrosion in their grids. 3GSolar would not disclose the exact process it used to overcome the obstacle.
These cells, each individual one of 225 square centimeters (34 square inches), we believe are the largest of this type in the world and give a record-breaking current, Goldstein said.
Dye-sensitized solar cells are also known as Graetzel cells, after Michael Graetzel, a professor at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland, who discovered them about 20 years ago.
He found that sunlight excites the dye and creates and electronic charge without the need for pricey semiconductors, similar to the way a plant uses chlorophyll to turn sunlight into energy through photosynthesis.
Graetzel told Reuters the dye-based technology has been gaining momentum in the renewable energy market.
He said there were key advantages over other systems.
These included lower costs, its ability to create electricity in cloudy areas or in non-peak sunlight, and the smaller amount of energy needed to manufacture the panels, which leaves a smaller carbon footprint.
Other companies, including Australia's Dyesol and Japan's Sharp Corp, have been racing to scale up dye solar cells to a commercial size, Graetzel said.
3GSolar came up with a solution. They report to have a collector that doesn't corrode, Graetzel said. He added that the company has shown promising results from durability tests on their panels carried out over 1,500 hours at 85 degrees Celsius.
They are not the only company working with DSC, but they have deliberately pushed their particular current collector technology first, he said.
CANDLE-LIT VILLAGES
Ken Zweibel, director of George Washington University's Solar Institute, said dye cells should be pursued but they remain among the low efficiency group of solar cells.
They are inching their way up in efficiency, and they appear to have some headroom, Zweibel said.
He added that the different color options and range of applications may make dye cells more attractive. But he emphasized the importance of durability: Can they warrantee 25 years outdoors as their competitors do?
3GSolar says its first system -- with two solar panels, a charge controller and a battery -- will hit the market in two years. It will target the off-grid market in developing countries, where many villages still depend on candlelight.
The Brussels-based Alliance for Rural Electrification estimated the off-grid market at $1.5 billion.
3GSolar said its system will have a lifespan of about seven years and have an output of 110 watts, enough to power many types of refrigerators.
It will cost $400, less than similar silicon-based systems, when produced locally. That translates into 30 cents per kWh, which is still much higher than fossil fuels.
The company expects the price will come down as the lifespan increases and production costs drop.
A Look at Miss USA 2011 Alyssa Campanella’s New Apartment Building
Looks like Trump and Campanella are about to be neighbors!
Donald Trump's primary personal residence is in the Manhattan skyscraper that bears his name, Trump Tower. There are several other Trump Towers in the world, but the one on Fifth Avenue is where he hangs his hat.
As per tradition, Miss USA gets to live for free in an apartment in that same building in New York City (Trump owns the Miss Universe organization, which includes the Miss USA pageant). Alyssa Campanella, Miss California (and now Miss USA), will be rooming with Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe. That is a whole lot of pretty faces in one place.
According to Forbes magazine, the building is worth more than $300 million, and houses the New York office of Qatar Airways, as well as Gucci's flagship retail location.
The building has stood for almost 30 years, and is where Saudi Prince Mutaib bin Abdul-Aziz lives, owning an entire floor. However, that's pretty modest compared to the apartment owned by Trump. The building's most famous resident lives in an apartment that occupies the top three floors of the tower and takes up 30,000 square feet. It's estimated to be worth $50 million, and it's considered one of the most valuable apartments in all of New York City.
Here's a look at the 2011 Miss USA winner and her new home:

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal could all move for Taarabt
Three of the Premier League's top four are reported to be interested in signing QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt, with champions Manchester United, runners-up Chelsea and fourth-placed Arsenal all enquiring about the Morroccan youngster.
Taarabt helped QPR secure promotion to the Premier League last season, after scoring 19 goals an providing 16 assists during the campaign. His performances won him the Championship player of the season award.
Manchester Untied manager Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to rebuild his squad after the retirements of Van der Sar, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes. Taarabt could be a direct replacement for Scholes, though he is one for the future as he is well short of experience.
The Metro reports that Ferguson is understood to be impressed by Taarabt and the fact that he is open to a move away from the London club could see the Scot make a move for him. However, he is contracted to the club until 2013 and since he has a £10m release clause, it remains to be seen who makes the move. Taarabt is keen to leave as he was by QPR told that he wouldn't be given an improved deal as he is already on high wages.
In an interview with L'Equipe, Taarabt was also quoted as saying that London clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal, had both enquired about him. However, he added that a move to Chelsea was, as yet, doubtful as the Blues are still searching for a coach, while with Arsenal, his move depends on whether Cesc Fabregas moves to Barcelona or not.
The 22-year-old is a highly rated youngster and moved to QPR from Tottenham after his loan deal was made permanent. However, he has a rocky relationship with team boss Neil Warnock, and this could also be another factor to lead him to a move away from the recently promoted Premier league side.
The Olympics are comprised of the best female athletes in the world.
While many are known for just their achievements in the sport that they compete, others are also known for their looks. Many members of the U.S. soccer team became famous last year because of both their beauty and the team's run in the World Cup.
Even athletes who don't have much of a chance of earning a medal can gain notoriety because of appearance.
In 2008, Michael Phelps won eight gold medals and was the most-searched Olympian, according to Yahoo. Paraguayan javelin thrower Leryn Franco was second on the list, even though she did not come close to winning a medal.
Here is a list of the hottest female athletes at the 2012 Olympics in London.
