I sometimes think designer Erin Martin has single-handedly saved the Napa Valley from morphing into Provence or Tuscany. While the surrounding mountains may be dotted with ersatz Mediterranean villas, Martin's clients rely on her modern sensibility to pull off an inimitable mix of vintage with a splash of understated glamour. This modern take on an American farmhouse (designed by architect Wayne Leong) is centered around an original water tower, beams intact, with interiors that feature Martin's signature multi-textural, muted palette.
