house of cards season 3 spoilers
A new promo video teases trouble for Claire (Robin Wright, left) and Frank (Kevin Spacey) in Season 3 of "House of Cards." Netflix

Looks like Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) will be feuding with more than just Congress when Season 3 of “House of Cards” premieres on Netflix Feb. 27. A promo video for the upcoming political thriller indicates Frank and Claire (Robin Wright) will experience their fair share of marital woes in the third installment of the critically acclaimed series. (Hey, even power couples have their issues!)

While taking a portrait in the White House, Frank will notice a major shift in his relationship with Claire when she shudders at the slight touch of his hand.

“Today I touched her shoulder,” Frank narrates the uncomfortable scene, then addresses Claire, saying, "You flinched." Following the twitch, the president then asks his wife during the photo shoot if she prefers that he keep his hands to himself.

“Do you prefer I not?” he asks, abruptly pulling his left hand off of her.

Fans can then hear Frank recounting the tense encounter to his wife. “It was like you were coiled,” he explains. But Claire calls her husband out for overreacting. “I think you’re reading too much into something,” she replies.

But is he really? Or could there actually be trouble in paradise for everyone’s favorite political couple?

Beau Willimon, creator of “House of Cards,” addressed the story line during a recent Twitter Q&A.

“@BeauWillimon regarding the new clip, is this the beginning of the Underwood marriage's downfall?” one fan asked in a tweet.

“All I can say is that their unorthodox marriage has always been at the core of the show,” he responded.

And that wasn’t the only hint Willimon gave on what's in store for Claire in the new season. According to the creator, fans will notice a major change for Wright’s character in Season 3: her hair color!

“There's a specific reason it happens, but you'll have to watch to find out,” Willimon teased in reference to Claire’s new shade.

“House of Cards” Season 3 will be available on Netflix on Friday, Feb. 27, at 12 p.m. PST with all 13 episodes.
