The healthcare reform bill making its way through the U.S. House of Representatives will include a public insurance option, but negotiations are continuing on the details of the public plan, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday.

At the end of the day we will have a public option in the House bill, Pelosi told a news conference.

Pelosi said negotiations were not just about a government-run option but also were looking forward to the shape of a final bill that could be approved by both the House and the Senate, which she said also was now leaning toward a public option.
