It’s the last tune up for both the Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic before the start of the 2012-13 NBA regular season. The two teams are set to square off at the Amway Center at 7 p.m. ET. on Friday night.

The Rockets have been one of the better teams in the preseason. At 4-2, they have the best record in the Southwest Conference.

Most of Houston’s games have been high scoring affairs, and this one shouldn’t be any different. They lead the league in scoring with 103.2 points per game. On the defensive side, they’re second-to-last, allowing 101.8 points per contest. Orlando is the worst at 103.4 points.

Even though Houston has had success, their biggest acquisition of the offseason hasn’t contributed much. Jeremy Lin signed a three-year contract with the Rockets, and hasn’t shown much promise during the exhibition games.

In five games, Lin is averaging five points, 6.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game. The most alarming statistic is his shooting percentage. Lin is shooting just 22.2 percent from the field, and hasn’t hit one three-pointer.

Since trading Dwight Howard, the Magic have had to look to another player for the majority of their scoring. Through six preseason games, that player has been Glen Davis. The big man leads all players with 17.7 points per game.

Davis has done an admirable job, but Orlando has struggled without Howard. They’re just 2-4 in the preseason, and their defense looks like one of the worst in the NBA.
