Their alleged behind-the-scenes feud became big news after it led to his refusing to perform back on Week 3 of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 25. Now however, both Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey seem to have officially moved on from their reported spat.

Lachey told Us Weekly over the weekend that “everything is great” between she and Chmerkovskiy, after he sat out on “Guilty Pleasures” week and forced his partner to dance with Alan Bersten instead. Fans were unaware during the broadcast that there were issues between the two members of Team babies and Ballroom, with the official statement from the show being that Maks was out because of a “personal issue.”

However, one day after the broadcast, news broke that the issue was because of a battle Chmerkovskiy and Lachey had behind-the-scenes.

“There is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes,” sources said at the time. “Their personalities are very similar so they disagree about everything. They refuse to give into one another. They’re playing nice for the cameras, but both are miserable paired with each other.”

Neither one acknowledged the drama at the time, choosing to speak out after it had already been confirmed by their fellow cast members that they were returning to the ballroom together for Week 4. They both still remained silent for a while, until Maks revealed how much he cared for Vanessa in an Instagram post following their emotional dance for “Most Memorable Year” week.

“I’m proud of you partner! They can say what they want but you’re a star and I wouldn’t want to be on this rollercoaster with anyone but you,” he wrote at the time.

In addition to Vanessa speaking out and saying their drama was seemingly behind them, Maks has also spoken out to indicate that things have gotten significantly better, even telling Us Weekly himself over the weekend that he doesn’t even recall there being some drama at all, before admitting that everyone ran into tough spots on the show and would work their way through it.

“What drama? [Things] were never bad. They were great things. It’s been a great season,” he said. “It’s a tough show. Everybody’s going through this whole process, and when you’re good enough to make it all the way, you go through that much more stuff. We’re a great couple. We’re doing our best. She’s giving me all the time that she should and I can’t wait for this Monday to show what we’ve been working on.”

Vanessa and Maks, who fell near the bottom of the Leaderboard for the first time during Week 5, will be dancing a Musical themed Quickstep for “A Night at the Movies.”

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
