How I Met Your Mother series finale spoilers
Did the "How I Met Your Mother" creator just leak the script of the series finale? CBS/HowIMetYourMother

“How I Met Your Mother” is nearly a month away from airing its hourlong series finale on Monday, March 3. So that means fans of the long-running comedy will have a few more weeks to cook up their own predictions of how Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) meets the mother of his children (Cristin Milioti).

Now, if you asked us in 2005, when “HIMYM” first aired nine seasons ago, we’d never guess that the duo would fall in love at Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin’s (Cobie Smulders) wedding. That’s why the co-creator of the beloved sitcom, Carter Bays, had a giggle fit when he came across an old first draft of the finale he’d written for the show in 2006.

“Writing finale. Found this doc on my computer. Look @ the date. No memory of writing it. Wish I could show the rest!” Bays wrote to his 33,000 followers on Twitter, adding a photo of the teasing finale script.

So, what information can we get from the leaked clue? Well, here’s what we learned: The document is titled “Last Forever.” Considering there’s no hit record with that title we can connect to the finale—besides this upbeat little tune by Fenech-Soler—we have to assume it’s a symbolic approach created by Bays and co-creator Craig Thomas as a final hoorah for their series. That said, we’re sure the season finale of “How I Met Your Mother” will certainly “last forever” in the hearts of the loyal viewers who snuggled up on their couch every Monday night to hear Ted’s story.

In the teasing tweet, we can also see “INT. TRAIN PLATFORM – DAY” written as the first scene of the season finale. We’re not exactly sure what to make of that, but we do know that there’s photographic proof that Ted meets the mother after the wedding reception while sitting in the rain at the Farhampton train station. The mother is holding her iconic yellow umbrella, and perhaps Ted sees his future wife's familiar accessory as a sign that he shouldn’t move to Chicago.
