The Meghan Markle fans know and love today may not have been the same Markle from five years ago.

Body language expert Judi James recently decoded Markle’s body language during her first television interview in 2013 on “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.” She also compared it to the Markle that fans get to see on television after her engagement to Prince Harry.

“We’ve seen the confident, eloquent, mildly flirty version of Meghan during some of her engagement outings but that was Meghan-lite compared to the uber-sexy, flirtatious and hugely vibrant version from back in 2013. Meghan is a show-stopped from her arrival on set, a fired-up bundle of gleaming bare arms and legs who walks out laughing and offering an embrace and hug to her host,” she said.

During the interview, Markle sat with legs crossed, and one of her arms slung casually and confidently over the back of a chair. But Markle’s body language then has changed.

“Her interview is peppered with deliberate hair flicks, as opposed to the slightly more self-comfort hair touches she performs in the U.K. now and her gesticulation is open and empathetic with her hands high in the air to promote her points,” James added.

During a previous outing, Markle was seen tucking her hair behind her ear, and she was immediately criticized for it. Another body language expert said that it proves Markle lacked confidence.

The body language expert seems to suggest that the version of Markle in the interview make the former actress look more confident. During her recent visits with Prince Harry, Markle appeared to be calmer.

The version of Markle from the 2013 interview also showed her fun side. “She might play coy at times with a high-pitched giggle and hand over her mouth but overall her more assertive hand gestures end in the host leaning back in his seat with his arms folded across his chest in a barrier that hints at the full force of the Meghan confidence and intelligence,” James said.

The body language expert ended her comparison with a statement regarding how she wants the old Markle to still remain true to herself even after she marries Prince Harry.
