Facebook introduced a new feature that will let users share and talk about events that are happening in their communities and around the world.

In fact, you may have recently noticed the large, colorful cards at the top of your News Feed wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving or reminding you to not miss the superman. These cards will appear on a regular basis, according to Facebook’s announcement.

Messages from Facebook will appear at the top of News Feed about a specific event or moment.

Facebook’s new shareable moments are to help increase engagement on the popular social network. The company says they want to help people discover important moments, cultural events and give people a way to connect with friends and family during the holidays.

We’re not surprised this feature is arriving before the holiday’s, and is starting off with fun holiday cards you can share with friends.

How To Share Moments On Facebook News Feed

At the top of the News Feed, you’ll see an option to select from one of 18 custom-designed holiday cards, including cards for those who celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, as well as a card showing a snowman with a cookie.

Once you select a card, you have the option to add your own message, then tag a friend or family member and share it to their feed.

Starting Tuesday, the cards are available to all Facebook users.

“We care about our community and want to make their experience more delightful with the launch of this program. We hope to give people new ways to connect and share and be informed about events and moments happening in the world around them,” wrote Facebook’s CMO Gary Briggs.

“This is just the beginning and we’ll continue to work to make these messages better for our community around the world,” he said.
