Following Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE: HPQ) decision to discontinue its TouchPad tablet product line, retailer Best Buy Co. (NYSE: BBY) said it has extended to sixty days its return period to 60 days for customers who want to return the devices.

“Best Buy is extending its return/exchange policy on the HP TouchPad and all HP TouchPad accessories to 60 days,” BBY said on its website.

“Come into a Best Buy store and we will help you find another tablet to fit your needs or issue you a refund.”

Reportedly, given the drastic price cuts that retailers have adopted on their inventory of the tablet, some customers who bought the TouchPad at full price are now seeking refunds.

However, BBY added that its match policy doesn’t apply if customers find a tablet discounted by another retailer.

“As of August 19, 2011, the HP TouchPad is on clearance and we will no longer be selling the units so we will not offer any price matches,” the company stated.
