Huawei Honor 8 is the upcoming smartphone from the Chinese tech company. Unlike previous rumors that suggested that the Honor 8 will be unveiled on July 5, an image published on the Chinese edition of Honor’s website indicates that the smartphone will be announced on July 11, Phone Arena reported.
The Huawei Honor 8 is said to be a lower-end version of the Honor V8 flagship that was announced in May. It will be coming to replace the popular Honor 7 smartphone. Recently, the Huawei Honor 8 was spotted on the website of TENAA, a certification body from China. It has revealed the specifications and several photos of the Honor 8.
The Huawei Honor 8 is expected to house a full HD screen of 5.2 inches. Speculations suggest that Huawei is also going to introduce a Quad HD screen version of the Honor 8.
It is expected to be powered by Kirin 950 chipset that houses an octa-core processor of 2.3 GHz. The chipset will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It is expected to come with a native storage of 32 GB.
It will come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It will be featuring a 12-megapixel dual camera system. It will be enabled with a dual-LED flash. Its front-facing camera will be of 8-megapixel.
Other features of the Honor 8 include USB Type-C port and a fingerprint reader. The device will include a battery of 2900 mAh capacity. As far as the design is concerned, the Huawei Honor 8 will be coming with a metallic chassis along with dual glass on its front and rear. It is also expected to sport thinner bezels.
Previous speculations have suggested that the above mentioned variant will be priced around $300. Its 64 GB storage model is expected to be priced around $377. Rumors suggest there will be a higher configuration model that will include 5.7-inch Quad HD screen, 128 GB native storage and 4 GB of RAM. It will be costing around $420.
