The Honor Band Zero is a smartwatch from Huawei. It is actually a fitness and sleep tracker device that comes with a round time-telling face.
Huawei had announced the Android Wear powered Huawei Watch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 event that was held in February this year. Even before making it available for purchase, the company unleashed the Huawei Honor Band Zero in July this year in select markets, Android Authority reported.
According to CNET, the Honor Band Zero has a traditional watch like appearance. It comes with a plastic band along with a touchscreen that is enabled with thick bezels. It is available in two sizes, large and small and it comes in three color options like black, white and khaki.
Since the Honor Band Zero is an IP68 certified product, it is resistant to contact with water and dust. The manufacturer has promised that it won’t be damaged by water even if it is immersed in 10 meters deep water.
It is equipped with a 70 mAh battery. On a single charge, the device can last for about four days. It offers a standby time of up to 14 days.
The Huawei Honor Ban Zero can be paired with an Android or iOS device through Bluetooth. It is compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 KitKat or higher and iOS 7 or higher. The Honor Band Zero will work only on those Huawei devices that are feature Android 5.0 or higher. There is a free mobile app available for the Honor Zero Band that allows user to sync the time as well as other features.
As far as health and fitness features of the device are concerned, the Honor Band Zero can track fitness activities, monitor sleep patterns, and count calories. It also users to remotely take photos and mute incoming phone call when paired with iOS devices. Other features offered by the device include locate phone and gesture support.
The device is currently available in China and Europe for purchase. However, Huawei has not announced it for other countries like U.S and Australia. However, third party retailers like Gear Best has made it available for buyers across the world. It has listed all the three color variants of the Huawei Honor Band Zero.
