Hunger Games
Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth star in the critically praised "Hunger Games". Lionsgate

A film franchise doesn't have to be good in order to have a fanbase, but apparently The Hunger Games is! Early reviews are praising the film for being a crowd pleasing sci-fi thrill-fest. We couldn't be more excited to learn that Suzanne Collins' page turning book has been transferred to film so effectively. Although the film's reviews have not been officially released, it has a score of 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The rating is based on 32,452 user reviews. Slash Film revealed:

The Hunger Games - B+. An exciting, emotional adaptation that gets most everything right. Its one flaw is it might be too smart for itself.

Celebs like Kelly Osbourne took to her Twitter to praise the film:

Just got out of seeing #HungerGames all I have to say is wow! It really is a must see!

As did Miranda Lambert:

Hunger Games. Amazing.

The film's star, Liam Hemsworth couldn't agree more, telling MTV:

The fans that I have met so far have been nothing but supportive and extremely passionate about the books. I feel so honored to meet all these people. Something like this, which I think is bigger than anyone in the film, it's pretty crazy.

Early pre-sale numbers are an indicator that the film will break box office records. Glowing reviews could lure non-fans to the theater as well, making for a record breaking opening weekend. The film opens on March 23.
