A 21-year-old Idaho man was arrested Wednesday for firing a semiautomatic rifle at the White House on Friday night, hitting the presidential residence.

At around 9:30 p.m., U.S. Park Police investigated gun shots from a street between the White House and the Washington Monument. An investigation led Park Police to a suspect, Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez.

The Secret Service said that Ortega-Hernandez was arrested in a Pennsylvania hotel at 12:35 p.m. EST and is in the custody of the state police.
