A sneak peek from Season 1, episode 4 of “Incorporated” reveals that Spiga previously tried to recruit Elena (Denyse Tontz) to be a prostitute in one of the company’s executive clubs. Ben Mark Holzberg/Syfy

Elena (Denyse Tontz) previously refused to work as a prostitute for one of Spiga’s executive clubs.

A newly released sneak peek from Season 1, episode 4 of “Incorporated” shows a flashback scene to Elena’s teenage years in the Red Zone. The scene opens with Elena finding a female Spiga employee, together with her bodyguard, inside the eatery she works at.

At first, Elena thought that the visitors are looking for her father who just went out to go to the bank. But when the lady starts talking, Elena finds out that it’s her they want to speak with. “I actually came to see you, Elena. [I’m] Rebecca Henson. I’m with Spiga Biotech Educational Outreach Department. I’m sorry about the scholarship,” the visitor from the Green Zone tells Elena. “I’m afraid you didn’t get it, Elena. … I’m sorry. If it means anything, you’re a runner up.”

When Elena asks Rebecca if she came all the way to the Red Zone just to deliver the disheartening news, the Spiga employee replies: “No, I came here to tell you that even though you may not realize your dream of attending college. There could be a place for you in the Spiga family. You are an exceptional young woman. You are young, smart, beautiful. How would you like to be a woman of grace and sophistication?”

Rebecca goes on to say that with her help, Elena can travel the world and be among the rich and powerful. Rebecca also tells the Red Zone resident that she can give her enough money to take care of her family for the rest of their lives.

While this appears to be an amazing opportunity for Elena to get her family out of poverty, things begin to heat up inside the eatery when Elena’s father comes in and stops Rebecca from recruiting his daughter to become one of Spiga’s prostitutes.

“Get away from my daughter!” Elena’s dad says as he points a gun to Rebecca’s head. “[You’re giving my daughter an opportunity] to [work as a prostitute] for one of your executive clubs? Bet you get a nice spot bonus for sending someone like that.”

Soon after Rebecca’s bodyguard aims his gun to Elena’s dad, Aaron (Sean Teale) enters the scene and immediately eases the tension between the two parties. “Okay, everybody take a breath. The guy who runs things around here is named Tino, and I work for him. Your guy shoots you’ll not make it to the wall of life,” Aaron, a.k.a. Ben Larson, tells Rebecca.

After things loosen up, Rebecca tells Elena to think her proposal over. “This is the best offer someone like you is gonna get. … Think it over. You have my contact,” Rebecca says.

Elena presently works as a prostitute in Arcadia, so it’s unclear what changed her mind.

In the preview clip for episode 4, titled “Cost Containment,” Ben decides to tell her wife Laura (Allison Miller) something about his past. Will he finally tell her that he’s only working at Spiga to be reunited with his childhood lover, Elena?
