India’s exports in November grew 26.5 percent to $18.9 billion compared to the same period a year earlier, a government report said on Monday.

Imports for the month rose 11.2 percent to $27.8 billion over the level of imports in the same period last year, the statement said.

India's trade deficit for the month was estimated at $8.9 billion and for the nine month period (April - November 2010) at $81.67 billion, which is higher than the deficit of $68.38 billion during the same period last year.

Oil imports increased 2.31 percent to $7.72 billion higher than the imports at $7.55 billion in the corresponding period last year.

Non-oil imports rose 15.05 percent to $20.07 billion in November 2010.
