The man who made the bombs and explosives which were used in a terrorist attack in Bali in 2002 has been sentenced to twenty years in prison by an Indonesian court.

Umar Patek claimed he played a minor role in the bombings, saying he only helped mix chemicals for the bombs.

The attack in Bali killed more than 200 people, principally foreign tourists, including 88 Australians.

Prosecutors asked for a life sentence.
