  • Inter are planning to offer a lucrative deal to Lautaro Martinez
  • Barca and Man City are chasing the 22-year-old forward
  • Martinez has scored 18 goals this season

Lautaro Martinez, who is among the top targets of FC Barcelona this summer, has reportedly been offered a lucrative contract extension by his current club Inter Milan.

Inter Milan were recently held at a draw in two consecutive Serie A matches and that saw them drop to No. 3 in the table, but are just one point behind second-placed Atalanta. It is understood Inter boss Antonio Conte is looking to revamp the side this summer so that they will be able to challenge for the Serie A title next season and he does not want Martinez to leave the club at the end of 2019-20.

According to Spanish publication Eldesmarque, Inter are planning to offer Martinez an improved contract as the 22-year-old forward currently earns $1.7 million per season and is committed to the San Siro side until 2023. The report revealed that in a bid to convince Martinez to stay in Italy, Inter are considering to offer Martinez a tempting deal of $6.3 million per season amid interest from European giants such as Barcelona and Manchester City.

Martinez plays alongside Lionel Messi at Argentina national team. The Barca skipper, highly impressed with his compatriot, believes Martinez's addition to his club will strengthen the squad.

In an interview, Inter’s CEO has claimed the player has no intention of leaving the club before his contract runs out and the rumors about his possible departure to la Liga or Premier League are false.

For the first time, Martinez has spoken about his transfer links in the media as he stated he has always given his best for the club and for the fans who look up to the team.

“I always try to give 110% for this club, for the people who love it, for the 'Nerazzurra' shirt . I am a boy who always fights, for my goals, for the team, for the happiness of the fans. Since I was a child I worked on my weapons: concentration, never giving up, leaving everything in the field, helping my colleagues to the maximum ", Lautaro Martínez told Inter’s official magazine, as reported by Eldesmarque.

Martinez has netted 18 goals in 42 competitive games for Inter in the 2019-20 season including 13 in Serie A.
