Inter Milan trampled over TP Mazembe to win the final of the Fifa Club World Cup and in doing so became the first Italian side to collect five major trophies in a calendar year.

In a 3-0 win, Samuel Eto'o set up Goran Pandev's opener before adding the second himself early in the first half with Joseph Biabiany's late third sealing a rarely-threatened victory.

Inter's boss Rafael Benitez will have heaved a sigh of relief after winning his first trophy with Inter as the victory will go some way to easing the pressure on his job. Rafa has struggled to live up to high expectations after succeeding Jose Mourinho with whom Inter won the Champions League, the Serie A and the Italian cup last season.

Mazembe found it difficult to threaten Inter after upsetting Brazilian side Internacional to enter the final. Early goals proved to be the Congolese side's downfall as Eto'o, who recovered from injury in time to play, split the Mazembe defence with a pass that Pandev easily converted, before scoring the second himself after collecting Zanetti's through ball.

Inter missed many more chances to score with Diego Milito guilty of missing a sitter after breaking the off-side trap. Mazembe had half-decent chances themselves with Dioko Kaluyituka's powerful shot being blocked by Ivan Cordoba.

However, late in the second-half, Inter substitute Biabiany wrapped up proceedings with a superb run and finish.

Rafael Benitez, who was reportedly told by Inter owner Massimo Moratti that he should win the Club World Cup to save his job, spoke of receiving more support from the club if they wish to see more trophies.

He said, There are three possibilities (for the club. One, 100% support for the coach and buy four or five players - to build a stronger team with competition among the players to be able to carry on winning matches and trophies.

Two, carry on like this without a project, without planning and go ahead with one person to blame, for the whole season getting to May this way.

The third is to speak to my agent, reach an agreement if there is not this support. Simple.
