Electronics manufacturing company Foxconn revived the buzz for the soon-to-be-eventually released Apple iPhone 5 on Wednesday when one worker in China divulged production details of the device, including features, specs and a possible release date for the next generation iPhone.

The source told 9to5Mac the iPhone 5, tentatively named for all intents and purposes, has entered production and will most likely be launched in the summer.

While there is no definitive model as of yet, several versions are being tested before production begins in full swing. So far, the few models all have some specs in common, according to 9to5Mac, including at least a four-inch screen display made by LG, symmetrical in thickness instead of a teardrop shape, longer and wider and without the iPhone 4/4S form factor.

9to5Mac said the source can be ruled as reliable, as it was the same person who tipped last summer that Apple was working on the iPhone 4S rather than a radically different iPhone 5.

Other rumors continue to circulate as hype is restored for the iPhone 5, such as the omission of a home button and a quad-core A6 processor.

On Monday, Sony unveiled its slim and powerful CMOS image sensor, which could possibly be incorporated into the iPhone 5. Another report suggests that the iPhone 5 could include Lytro's light field camera, as the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs was impressed by the Lytro camera.
