The Delhi Daredevils won its second match in the 2012 Indian Premier League, with an eight-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in Delhi.

MS Dhoni's side recorded a total of 110 for eight after a serious of disastrous run-outs that left them with a below-par score to defend.

And Virender Sehwag's Daredevil's side had little difficulty in knocking off the total in just 13.2 overs for the loss of two wickets.

But it was during the Super Kings' innings where all the damage was done. After winning the toss, Sehwag elected to put his side in the field first on what was a damp wicket after the start of the match being delayed due to rain.

And the first ball told the story of the way the Super Kings' innings went. Murali Vijay was run out at the non-strikers end after storming down the wicket before seeing that batsman Francois Du Plessis had turned back fearing that the single was not on..

And the theme continued with next man in Suresh Raina also being run out this time by Yogesh Nagar, before Subramaniam Badrinath and Ravichandran Ashwin followed suit as Chennai's innings imploded.

Without a meaningful partnership and Dwayne Bravo top-scoring with just 22, the Super Kings finished on a lowly 110, with a run rate of just 5.50.

We posted a below par score, said MS Dhoni after the match, according to the IPL official website. The wicket behaved well in the second half.

We were looking to have a left and right hand combination but the run-outs never let us get that right. We have to be more consistent and look to play good cricket.

With a stacked top order featuring Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen and Nahela Jayawardene, the Daredevils had little trouble in achieving the winning total. Englishman Pietersen finished unbeaten on 43, alongside Jayawadene on 20. Sehwag was earlier out for 33.

Daredevils bowler Morne Morkel was named as man of the match after his two wickets for the loss of just 19 runs.

Bowlers started off really well upfront and the left arm spinners took off from there, Sehwag said, according to the official IPL website.

We've international class which has been boosted by the return of KP [Kevin Pietersen] and Mahela. As a result of that, I can play freely.
