A group of Chicago Little Leaguers captured Little League World Series U.S. championship and a berth for Sunday's world championship game, defeating a Nevada team 7-5 Saturday, the Chicago Tribune reported. Jackie Robinson West, 13 boys from Chicago's South Side, will face Asia Pacific, which defeated Japan earlier in the day 12-3.

It was the first time a Chicago team had qualified for the championship since 1967 and made up for its loss to Las Vegas, 13-2, earlier in the week in pool play. A two-run homer to right field by Trey Hondras highlighted the South Siders' three-run first inning. A three-run fifth inning put the game away.
