James Murdoch Relinquishes BSkyB Chairmanship
Apparently taking too much heat from the scandals hounding his family's media empire, James Murdoch announced on Tuesday his resignation as chairman of British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB). REUTERS

A News Corp. spokesman said Wednesday James Murdoch would step down as executive chairman of News International to focus on the company's television holdings. The son of 80-year-old media baron Rupert Murdoch will remain on as deputy chief operating officer of News Corp.

Murdoch and News Corp. have come under international scrutiny for a phone-hacking scandal that broadens around every turn. He denied his knowledge of phone-hacking at the newspaper conglomerate he in-part ran, though that claim has been disputed by colleagues.
