“Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez is a gorgeous Latina actress who is crazy talented to boot. And while it seems like she could not get any more perfect, the actress proved otherwise when she showcased her love for puppies.

In honor of National Puppy Day, Rodriguez posted on Instagram a photo of her dog, Casper.

In another photo, Casper can be seen sleeping together with her boyfriend, Joe LoCicero. According to the actress, seeing the two of them makes Rodriguez feel like she is the luckiest girl in the world.

Rodriguez is known for playing Jane Gloriana Villanueva in “Jane the Virgin.” This Season 3, the show upped its narrative by finally letting Jane lose her virginity to her husband, Michael Cordero (Brett Dier).

Rodriguez earlier told Yahoo! Style that she appreciated the show’s approach regarding Jane’s decision to get married first before having sex and honoring the promise she made to her grandmother. “The show is about this girl going through life, and that just happens to be a really fun aspect of what made it interesting and a little different, and it made her holding on to her convictions such a powerful thing as a woman on television. So it’s nice that she also then moved into another chapter. I was desiring that myself for Jane,” said Rodriguez.

Sadly, Michael also passed away this season, leaving Jane a widow. Fans were extremely upset when he died, so show creator Jennie Snyder Urman penned an explanation on Tumblr. “It was…a decision made very early on, when I thought about our story as a whole. And even in season one, I knew it would be a hard thing to actually do, which is why there was a line (which many of you noticed) about how Michael would never stop loving Jane. And the Narrator confirmed, ‘For as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did,’” she wrote.

“Honestly, I put that line into the script at the last minute to hold our feet to the fire, to make sure we went through with it. Because even back then, the writers could all see the magic of Jane and Michael together,” she added.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
