Jennie Garth, 43, wed David Abrams, 34, in an intimate garden ceremony in Los Olivos, California, on July 11. She walked down the aisle in a custom silk tulle gown designed by Claire Pettibone. According to the designer, Garth had a very specific vision for her wedding dress and wanted a nontraditional gown.

“Jennie knew she wanted something nontraditional yet utterly romantic for her wedding. Given it was a garden setting, she was drawn to this elaborate floral embroidery, and we also wanted to incorporate some touches of gold to highlight that gorgeous ring of hers , which is set in yellow gold,” the designer said.

The gown was embroidered with blossoms of pale blush, rose and coral, matched the setting of the wedding. Pettibone incorporated a second layer of tulle underneath, embellished with gold, champagne and silver threads and thousands of clear sequins. The dress is lined in double-face silk charmeuse in sky blue.

The designer recounted how Garth was excited to try a blue dress from her recent collection, though she had not thought of blue before. She suggested the “Beverly Hills 90210” alum layer the embroidery over the blue silk as it reminded her of a summer garden in bloom. The silhouette features three-fourth-length sleeves, an illusion neckline, and sheer embroidered back, with a dramatic long train, while the skirt has a fitted silhouette.

Pettibone said she loved creating the gown for Jennie, and had the chance to get to know her during the dress fittings. Meanwhile, the gown floored the groom too. In an exclusive interview, Abrams said Jennie was drop-dead gorgeous. He said that when he saw Jennie in her dress, nothing else mattered, People reported.

Garth turned to people she trusted with styling her for her big day. Hairstylist Michael Anton, who worked with her in “90210,” was brought in and created a romantic up do that was inspired by the gown and Grace Kelly. According to Anton, it was “soft and beautiful and pretty.” Makeup artist Dana Hamel, who worked with Garth on the film “The Eleventh Victim” in 2012, was called in to glam her up.
