Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are “doing their best” to give their three children a normal family experience despite their split.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” star, 44, opened up about what it’s been like co-parenting his three children—Violet, 10, Seraphina Rose, 7, and Samuel, 4,—with his 44-year-old estranged wife. According to the actor, their separation isn't a hindrance when it comes to taking care of their kids. “We do our best. We try our best,” he told the outlet at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, “The Accountant.”

Affleck and Garner split last year, but the two still live in the same house and share responsibilities for their kids. However, while the actor said he’s doing his best, there’s a still a lot of things related to parenting that he’s not so great with, including homework. “My areas of expertise with the kids [are] spotty at best. Not homework. I only play an accountant in the movie. In real life, I'm badly wanting,” he admitted.

But though he’s not a big help when it comes to math and science assignments, Affleck does keep his children’s creations close to him, especially when he’s working. The actor and producer said that he always brings his kids’ artwork with him when he’s filming.

“[It’s] mostly stuff from my kids,” he said when asked about his trailer must-haves. “It's the only personal stuff I have -- the drawings and art. It's a good place to hang up the latest artwork to come out of school.”

The Oscar winner also briefly talked about his highly anticipated superhero flick, “Justice League,” which is slated to hit theaters Nov. 16, 2017. “It's fun, in one word. I hope you like it, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun,” he said of the film.

Meanwhile, Affleck and Garner were spotted together on Monday, Oct. 10. In the photos obtained by Daily Mail, the two were seen sporting casual clothes as they walked home together in Brentwood, Calif. after dropping off their children at school.
