Jennifer Garner may be new to Instagram, but she makes sure to use the platform the right way. The actress recently celebrated Teacher's Day by posting a sweet message for her elementary school librarian on her Instagram page.

On Thursday, the "Alias" alum shared a sweet post recognizing and thanking her elementary school teacher, whom she says has been an inspiration to her. "If you are lucky you may have had a teacher like my Oakwood Elementary school librarian, Annyce McCann," Garner, 45, wrote.

Garner praised McCann, but she also encouraged her followers to thank their own teachers. "She saw me as ME and taught me all kinds of things about myself--that I was creative, that imagination is to be celebrated, that I was worthy of her time and attention and that books hold the whole world," the "13 Going On 30" star continued. "Today is a day to reach out and thank the special teachers in your life for helping you to become…YOU. Thank you, Mom McCann-- your care and extra attention changed my life and I am sure I am one of a hundred former students who would say the same. Have a beautiful day!"

Garner joined Instagram in September. In her first post, the mom-of-three shared a clip with the message: "I am officially on Instagram! So, please follow me because isn't that how this works..."

She also used the social media site to promote the charity organization Save the Children during Hurricane Harvey as the organization accepted relief funds for the kids affected by the tropical storm. In the same month, Garner visited Hilliard Elementary in Houston and met the young children, all of whom surprised her with their resilience.

"Today I was inspired by the huge hearts in Texas," Garner wrote on Instagram. "There is a generosity of spirit that gets lost in political rhetoric, but-- people come together in a time of crisis. You know what's beautiful? Children look for light."

The "Miracles from Heaven" star was inspired by how the children managed to cope with the calamity. One of them talked about saving a neighbor's dog, while another shared how they saved their mom from the flood. The kids also talked about how they rejoiced when they had power again.
