Jennifer Garner is now on Instagram!

On Friday, the "Alias" alum joined Instagram and shared her first post on the social media site. As her Instagram debut, Garner posted a time lapse video urging fans to follow her account, saying: "I am officially on Instagram! So, please follow me because isn't that how this works..."

E! News noted that the profile picture Garner used was from the 2016 Hollywood premiere of her film, "Miracles from Heaven." In her bio, Ben Affleck's ex-wife included a link to Save the Children charity's Hurricane Harvey Children's Relief Fund crowdfunding page.

Save the Children charity aims to raise money for the victims of the devastating storm that hit Houston, Texas. Garner has been a trustee and ambassador of Save the Children for years.

Back in March, she nearly broke down in tears while testifying in Washington about child poverty. During the event, Garner explained the importance of early childhood education programs and covered the damaging effects of childhood neglect.

"It's easy to escape responsibility for disgrace like that by blaming the parents," Garner said (via Us Weekly). "Who doesn't talk to a child? Who doesn't sing to their child?’ I'll tell you who: parents who have lived their whole lives with the stresses that come with food scarcity, with lack of adequate shelter, with drug addiction and abuse. Parents who were left on the floor when they were children, ignored by their parents, who had to choose, as one out of three mothers in this country do, between providing food or a clean diaper for their children. Poverty dulls the senses, it saps hope, it destroys the will."

In related news, her estranged husband, Affleck, is also active in charity work. The two announced their separation in 2015, a day before their 10th wedding anniversary. But the two stars only officially filed for divorce in April.

In July, Affleck, 45, received a humanitarian award at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala in St. Paul, Minnesota. In his acceptance speech, the "Justice League" star shared an anecdote involving Garner and their eldest daughter, 11-year-old Violet.

According to Affleck, their daughter was not that impressed with his recent humanitarian recognition as her mother had already been a recipient in the past. "When I told my oldest daughter that I was getting this award, she said, 'Yeah, Dad. Mom already has that one,'" he recalled.
