Pop superstar and movie star Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have announced that they are getting a divorce after seven years of marriage.

This was a very difficult decision, the couple said in a statement. We have come to an amicable conclusion.
We appreciate the respect of our privacy.

The couple has three-year-old twin children.

The divorce will be the third for Lopez, 41, and second for Anthony, 42.

In January Lopez became a judge on the “American Idol” television program.
