When the 2015 American Music Awards kicked off Sunday night, host Jennifer Lopez showed everyone she's still "Jenny from the block." Dressed like she was a part of Broadway's "The Lion King," JLo danced around onstage to some of the year's biggest hits to start the 43rd annual award ceremony.

The 46-year-old performer began the show singing one of her hits, "Waiting For Tonight," before addressing the crowd and telling everyone it was time to dance. As many musicians and artists looked on, JLo danced along to hits like Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen," Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood."

Following the performance, the host told the crowd how much she loved the AMAs. She said she has watched the show every year since she was a girl and recalled performances and musicians she's watched over the years, including Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

"This show holds a very dear place in my heart," Lopez said. "They became like my heroes. I'm sure you loved them too... this show truly inspired me."
